Social Action Uganda is a community-based organization operating in Wakiso District to support vulnerable people through child protection, human rights advocacy, charity activities, and community empowerment.

We believe every person deserves dignity, safety, and fair opportunities. Through community engagement and local partnerships, we work to create lasting impact in education, livelihoods, and social protection.

Our work is guided by a commitment to dignity, fairness, and creating safer communities. We partner with local leaders, schools, faith institutions, and families to address the real needs of Wakiso District's most vulnerable residents.

About Our Programs in Wakiso District

Women Empowerment: We run vocational skills workshops, financial literacy training, and legal rights education for women across Wakiso District. We connect participants to government support services and peer networks to ensure lasting economic independence and freedom from exploitation.

Youth Empowerment: Working with schools and youth groups, we provide career guidance, life skills education, and mentorship for young people aged 12–25. Our goal is to break cycles of poverty, early marriage, and unemployment in Wakiso District.

Human Rights Awareness: We deliver community education on fundamental rights, legal protections, and access to justice. We partner with legal aid organisations like FIDA Uganda to connect survivors of abuse and exploitation with professional support.

Community Support: We provide direct assistance to vulnerable families through food distribution, clothing donations, emergency cash transfers, and psychosocial support. Beneficiaries include the elderly, single mothers, persons with disabilities, and orphaned children.

Child marriage denies young people their rights and futures. We work to protect and empower girls and boys through education, awareness campaigns, and community engagement that create lasting change in Wakiso District.

Since April 2024, our campaign has reached over 500 students across schools in Wakiso District. We collaborate with faith institutions, community elders, and local government to shift cultural norms. Girls identified as at-risk are referred to counselling, legal aid, and continued education — a community-led approach that creates lasting protection for children.

Community & Emergency Support

We provide charity and humanitarian support to vulnerable communities in times of need. We distribute food, clothing, and essential supplies to families affected by disaster and hardship.

In 2024, our team delivered supplies to over 200 families in Wakiso District affected by natural disaster, including orphaned children and vulnerable households. Our emergency response mobilises volunteers within 24–48 hours of an identified need.

Beneficiaries include elderly residents without family support, single mothers, persons with disabilities, and orphaned children. We work closely with local leaders to identify the most vulnerable households before, during, and after emergencies.

Advocacy

Human Rights Advocacy

We advocate for the protection of human rights and dignity for all community members in Wakiso District. Through legal connections, awareness campaigns, and direct intervention, we support survivors and promote access to justice for vulnerable people.

In 2024, we supported two survivors: we connected a rape survivor to FIDA Uganda legal aid services to pursue justice, and helped a man beaten and robbed of his livelihood tools secure replacement funds — restoring both their dignity and economic stability.

Our human rights work includes regular community education sessions on legal rights, government protection services, and access to justice. We train community volunteers to identify violations early and refer cases to appropriate authorities in Central Uganda.

How We Operate

Social Action Uganda is committed to full accountability to the communities we serve, our donors, and local government.

Legal Registration

Officially registered under the Wakiso District Community-Based Organisation framework. Registration No: WCBO/24/4122. Operating since 2024 under Ugandan civil society law.

Fund Allocation

100% of donations go directly to community programs: 40% child protection & education, 30% emergency relief, 20% women empowerment, 10% operations and coordination in Wakiso District.

Community Accountability

We report regularly to community leaders, local government, and program beneficiaries in Wakiso District. Our leadership maintains open communication with all stakeholders and partners.

We will never sell, rent, trade, or share your information with any third party, advertiser, or commercial entity.
